Introducing the SENEF and Progisap Press Review. This monthly press review is a digest of all the latest news from the personal services sector. Here is the June issue.<\/p>\n

L\u00e9onard Platform: a project to make information on innovative technologies more accessible to the elderly<\/h2>\n

The L\u00e9onard Platform, a project designed to make information on innovative technologies more accessible to the elderly, people with disabilities and their carers. In France, 27% of the population are over 60, and 13% are disabled people aged 15 or over. Many of these people need help, especially the caregivers themselves.<\/p>\n

The Ideas Lab project, which gave rise to the L\u00e9onard Platform, comprises three phases:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Phase 1<\/strong> Experiments with 15 volunteer testers to identify autonomy-enhancing technologies.<\/li>\n
  2. Phase 2<\/strong> Creating a living lab to train and advise those involved.<\/li>\n
  3. Phase 3<\/strong> : The L\u00e9onard platform goes online, listing tested technologies and user comments.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The platform, launched on May 17, 2024, aims to inform, federate and advise various audiences (the elderly, people with disabilities, caregivers, healthcare professionals, etc.). It offers product sheets validated by experts and tested in the field, to guarantee their relevance and effectiveness. The Ideas Lab project, initiated two years ago, highlights innovation as the key to improving the autonomy of frail people, and aspires to create a more inclusive world through collaboration between various players.<\/p>\n

    Dissolution of the National Assembly and the end-of-life bill?<\/h2>\n

    Emmanuel Macron's dissolution of the National Assembly, following the RN's victory in the European elections, leaves the future of the end-of-life bill uncertain. This text, marked by intense debate, had seen the adoption of Article 5 on assisted dying, although the possibility for a loved one to administer the lethal substance was excluded, contradicting the government's initial position.<\/p>\n

    Health Minister Catherine Vautrin stressed the importance of making this text effective. However, with the dissolution of the Assembly and early elections, the legislative future of the project is uncertain. Discussions on article 6, concerning strict conditions for access to assisted dying, were still ongoing. The government version limited this measure to adult patients at the end of life, while some MPs wanted to extend it to people suffering from a serious and incurable illness in an advanced or terminal phase.<\/p>\n

    The fate of the project will depend on the priorities of the newly elected officials after the elections.<\/p>\n

    Domitys and \u00abG\u00e9n\u00e9rations Part'\u00c2ges\u00bb<\/h2>\n

    G\u00e9n\u00e9rations Part'\u00c2ges, an intergenerational cohabitation concept, is now in its 8th year. The program enables students to stay in senior citizens' residences free of charge. In exchange, of course, for time spent with the residents. Launched to help students financially and geographically, it also encourages intergenerational exchanges.<\/p>\n

    In 2022-2023, over 200 applications have been received. Medical, social and tourism students take part in a variety of activities, providing human enrichment for all concerned. Since the beginning, 75 students have benefited from the program, and this year 33 residences in university towns are taking part. Applications for 2024-2025 are now open.<\/p>\n

    AMI: An application for daily assistance<\/h2>\n

    Les B\u00e9quilles du Cognitif, a Social and Solidarity Economy company, has created AMI. It's a pay-as-you-go application for elderly people wishing to remain at home with daily assistance. Launched in March 2023, it is already used by 305 caregiver-assisted pairs. AMI enables caregivers to create personalized reminders via video selfies, text and photos, for tasks such as taking medication, hydration or medical appointments. This personalization helps elderly people to accept reminders. But it also helps them maintain their autonomy, prolonging their ability to live at home.<\/p>\n

    The FESP conference<\/h2>\n

    The FESP's national conference was held in Marseille on June 12 and 13. They brought together over 200 players in the personal services sector. This unique event enabled members, employees, managers and stakeholders to discuss the sector's major challenges. Indeed, such as old age, early childhood and full employment.<\/p>\n

    Participants proposed improvements to attract and retain workers in the SAP sector. These included a more favorable regulatory framework, the recruitment of older workers and a greater male presence. They also insisted on strengthening vocational training.<\/p>\n

    The FESP is committed to pursuing these efforts, stressing the importance of maintaining regulatory and fiscal stability to prevent concealed work and preserve families' purchasing power. The SAP sector is crucial to homecare and early childhood. It must remain at the heart of solutions to support citizens of all ages.<\/p>\n

    Extension of the new salary scale for personal services companies<\/h2>\n

    In application of the decree of June 14, 2024, published today in the Journal Officiel, amendment no. 11 raising the minimum wage will come into force on July 1, 2024.<\/p>\n
